Kalamandalam Sreedevi Mohanan a renowned Mohiniyattam performer and choreographer, has completed five year Mohiniyattam & Bharathanatyam course under Guru Kalamandalam Sathyabhama, Kalamandalam Padmini and Kalamandalam Leelamma in 1983 with the Best student Award from Kerala Kalamandalam. She started Chilanka Dance and Music Academy in 1986 as an institution for Indian classical arts which provides training facilities on research work in any field of South Indian art forms under the guidance of eminent gurus. It is recognized by Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. Chilanka provides courses in Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Bharathanatyam, Kuchippudi, Classical Music, Mridangam, Violin and Keyboard under the guidance of exponent Gurus. She performed in many National Festivals all over India and choreographed many items and special works. For the contributions made so far in the field of art (Teacher) she was honoured by Kaladarpanam 2005 with KALARATHNA AWARD .
